Bryna’s birthday is next week, and I ordered a new wardrobe for her. The wardrobe came early so I deiced to put it together and surprise Bryna. When I told Ana, it was a present for mama’s birthday all she could talk about is where is the birthday cake. Ana wanted to bake a cake.
Before Ana could bake the cake, I had to assemble the wardrobe. Ana wanted to help, she kept saying wow daddy so beautiful. Ana thought it was a house I was building for her. Every time I moved a piece Ana would say that was close daddy. When I joined to pieces together, she would say wow another room in my house.
Bryna didn’t know what she was getting for her Birthday, she just knew I was building something. Ana told Bryna that daddy was building her a birthday present. It was impossible to tell her that Bryna’s birthday was next week not today, so we decided to just go along with Ana. I guess Bryna gets two birthdays this year, does that mean she gains two years to her age?
After the wardrobe was completed it was time to bake the cake. We had one cake mix left, so we had to bake a chocolate cake. Box mix is so easy to make, Ana was involved in every step. She added the milk, oil, mix and even helped mix the batter. Every time we are cooking Ana wants to be involved. This is an easy mostly mess free way of Ana having fun in the kitchen.
When I was done cooking lunch the cake was ready to frost. We had two frosting to choose from, Ana picked the vanilla frosting. After Ana helped frost the cake when it was done, I put it on the table ready to eat. However, that was wrong, according to Ana the cake was not ready. Everyone knows that a birthday cake baked by daddy needs sprinkles to decorate it, silly me. We decorated the cake with sprinkles and then it was ready to eat.
I was wrong again, Ana said daddy cake not ready, the cake needs candles. Luckily, I had a couple of birthday cake candle laying around. Now the cake Ana has been talking about all day was finally ready to eat. Again, not quite ready, Ana had to sing Happy Birthday to You before we could cut and eat the cake.
Ana had a fun day playing house in the new wardrobe and baking a cake with me. She is getting smarter every day and remembers everything we say. If you want to see more of Ana wanted to bake a cake, check out the video below.
