Ana Working Hard

Hello

When we first saw the house, we are living it was late December, there was a large oak tree on the side of the house. The oak tree was bare just like the other trees in the neighborhood due to it being winter. Spring came and went still no leaves; summer came and went the poor tree was dead.  The tree was starting to be a hazard, every time there was a storm or wind large branches were falling, luckily no one was hurt.

We Called the National Park (who owes the house) to have the tree removed, this took some time. Finally, yesterday the tree cutter and his crew showed up and after a couple of hours the poor tree was down. The crew did not have the time to finish the cleanup and would be back in the morning. There were small twigs up to large trunks all of the yard. What a mess branches all over the place.

We decided to gather some of the smaller branches that we could use in the fireplace. We were looking for branches around 5-8 inches or so in diameter. Chris got out his hand saw and went outside to gather some of the branches to cut (silly Chris gave his chainsaw away a couple of years ago).  When Ana saw what we were doing she had to help. She went around and found branches we could use but small enough for her to carry. After about an hour it started to rain so we decided to stop.  We got enough wood for a couple of good fires, and had some fun doing it. The wood needs to dry out but will be ready for next fall or winter.
