Baked Tilapia

Eating good food that is health can be hard to do. However, in this baked tilapia recipe if you replace the butter with margarine and reduce the salt you will have a good healthy meal. The total time from start to finish is around 30 minutes. I use the same recipe for shrimp, most of the time I cook both at the same time.  When I do both, I have to increase the ingredients.

Bryna didn’t know what I was cooking, as you can see she was very happy.

Ingredients

  • 4-6 tilapia filets
  • 2 cloves of gallic
  • 3 tablespoons of butter or margarine
  • 1 pinch of dill weed or dried parsley (I use parsley)
  • Paprika powder
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Chop garlic into fine pieces.
  3. Add butter (or margarine) dill-weed (or parsley) and garlic into a saucepan.
  4. Add a dash of salt, pepper, and paprika powder to the saucepan.
  5. Heat saucepan over low heat until the butter is fully melted.
  6. Remove saucepan from heat and brush some of the contents over the bottom of a backing dish (I use a cookie sheet).
  7. Place the tilapia fillet on top of the garlic butter mix.
  8. Use remaining garlic butter mix to brush the top of each tilapia fillet.
  9. Place backing dish in the over then bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
  10. The baked tilapia is ready when it is easy to flak it with a fork.
