Covid-19 Vaccination Day
This week I was offered the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine. After weighing the pros and cons the decision was easy. The only thing holding be back was the medication I am taking which is Humira. Humira lowers the immune defenses, but my doctor is the one who suggested taking the vaccine, so I decide to get the Covid-19 vaccine. The VA was full of vets waiting to receive the vaccine, but luckily, I had an early appointment. I got to the VA hospital early around 8AM, my appointment was at 8:30AM.
The VA had at several nurses giving out the vaccine, so everything moved sort of fast. At 8:40 I was done with the first dose and already scheduled the second dose in February. After the vaccine everyone had to wait 15 minutes just in case there were any adverse side effect. The total hour I was in the vaccine area no one had any side effects, and my nurse told me she also received the vaccine with no side effects, and she has not seen anyone that had any side effects. And remember the VA is dealing with mostly older population and people with health issues.
The Next Day After Covid-19 Vaccination
The next day I woke up and made breakfast, and before finishing I was feeling a little off. When standing, I was dizzy, not bad, just off. Knowing that some people had side effects after the first dose, and most people were fine. Most people only had side effects after the second dose. After getting done the things around the house (taking Jimmy out) I had to do it was off to bed. For the rest of the day, I took it really easy but started to get a headache. The dizziness and headache were mild and after a couple of Tylenols and lots of fluids my headache went away for the most part.
Conclusion On Covid-19 Vaccination
The symptoms after the dose were mild, I could have stayed up and do everything I normally do. I would have to just go a little slower standing up. Overall, for the first dose of the Pfizer Covid-19 Vaccine everything was mild, and staying in bed was not necessary. But it was nice to take a whole day off. I would recommend everyone consider getting the vaccine, and next month I will keep you updated with the second dose.
