Polar Vortex Coming Soon?

The snow may have melted, and the temperature is up, but is there a polar vortex coming soon to the Northern states? So far this year we have had only one snowstorm in New York, and the winter is almost half over. The forecast for the next 10 days is all above freezing with a day or so of rain, but that will change in 2-3 weeks. A polar vortex will cover most of the northern states bringing with it a deep freeze. A polar vortex is an arctic blast, but there is nothing to worry about, this is nothing new. Back in November 2013 there was a strong polar vortex followed by a weaker on in January 2015. The wind chill reached around -50F (-45C). This polar vortex should be weaker than the one in 2014, but it will still bring the cold with it. This may also extend the winter weather longer than normal season. For individuals wanting to make some money on the Polar Vortex, look to invest in natural gas companies who supply gas for heating homes. With colder weather on the way, the use of natural gas should go up, making a profit for the gas companies and you.
